blissdreaming: boreal castellum

Aquatic Alchemy by Laura Borealisis, 2011 This piece was inspired by my experiences floating in an isolation tank. The creation process for this piece differs quite a bit from my normal process. It was created from the first quick sketch and completed within 2 weeks. Started with graphite, then watercolor washes and layers of acrylic and colored pencil on top. The tail shines metallic orange and gold and the hair, waves, and sky glimmer with silver. Watercolor, regular and metallic liquid acrylic, ink, pen, and prismacolor pencil on paper. 8”x 8”.
